Organizing URLs 101

Every traffic exchange and program on the planet gives you a URL to promote. You may not be interested in promoting every one, but you may still want to have those URLs in a place that’s easy to find. Why is that? Well, if you belong to traffic exchanges, most of them have downline builders, right? So, even if you don’t belong to a dedicated downline builder, you’ll still need your usernames and affiliate links at some point and it’s great to have that information at your fingertips. My solution is to build a table in Word or any other word processor with table-making capability. You need only two columns. The first column is for the program or traffic exchange’s name, and the second is for the affiliate URL. I also list my banners in their respective blocks. However, when adding a banner, I color it blue. You can color it magenta. It doesn’t matter. Just so it sticks out as being different from the affiliate links. Other URLs I might add for the same program might be shortcuts, as with TinyURL. Or tracking links, as with LinkBrander. And, I color them differently, too. You’ll be amazed at how big a difference coloring links is. It will save you lots of time in the long run. You won’t have to read the whole URL to see what it relates to, only choose the right color. Beside these URLs, I often add descriptions. For instance, I belong to Marlon Sanders’ affiliate program, and he has umpteen products to sell. So, next to each of my affiliate URLs, I describe the product it relates to with a short keyword or two in parentheses. You can type all of this information into your table in any order. When you’ve finished, click on the first column and then go to “Table” in the top toolbar and then, “Sort.” Your programs and respective URLs will then be in alphabetical order, making finding your URLs very easy. After your table is complete and sorted, save your document. Then, go to your Start menu, click the icon for My Documents and navigate to your table. Drag the icon for it to your desktop. Each time a program asks for a URL or you need one to plug into a traffic exchange for advertising or another for a downline builder, the link will be right at your fingertips. Voila! I’ve been using this system for almost three years and it works very well for me. Try it. I hope it works well for you, too. Published at:

Article Marketing 101: To Submit or Not to Submit

This is a little gem that I want to share. Article Marketing was a big talk a year or so ago and the buzz has died out. But, it is still a killer way to market your business. Just think: currently there are thousands upon thousands of article directories on the web. Each of these directories stores hundreds upon thousands (and sometimes millions) of articles covering everything to the best way to run a bed and breakfast to the latest practices in the accounting world. When visiting one of these sites, a visitor can simply choose whatever category they please and pull up thousands of articles on that topic. Why should you care? Because since search engines like Google love article directories, if you write a keyword dense article, you have a strong chance of boosting your organic ranking on Google. Organic listings are the non-paid for results that show up after a Google search. These hold lots of value and have a high click through rate, ideal for lead generation. So how do you do it? First pick a topic that shows off your professional expertise and is directly related to your business. Again, taking the example of the owner of the bed and breakfast, write a tips article about “10 Tips to Attracting Guests” or an informative article about the latest trends in the industry. Then, write a 400-600 word article covering this topic. This is the perfect word count for pick up, but I would suggest leaning slightly toward the higher number. And here’s why. You need to pack your article with the keywords that your business is associated with. If you have a keyword list of 5 words, make sure that those keywords appear as many times as you can in the article without being too obvious. For example “From my 15 years as a park ranger in Yosemite” is perfect, whereas “From my 15 years experience as a Yosemite park ranger, specialising in park rangery for the Yosemite area” is unacceptable (and yes, I did just create the word “rangery”….call Websters). A keyword packed article will surely interest mega-sites like Google, so make sure the quality and keywords are there! How are you going to get these prospects to your website? Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy – your bio! Depending on the article, you could use your landing page incentive in your bio. Your bio should be no more than 3-4 sentences (remember, short attention spans) with 2-3 sentences building your credibility and introducing your business. Then use the final sentence to introduce your incentive and drive leads to your landing page. For example: “Go to today and receive your free Ebook, “20 Dessert Recipes Under 10 Minutes”. This will get people to your landing page or website where they will convert into a lead! So now you have the article…what do you do? Market it! Widely distribute the article to: Article Banks Your email database Post it on your website Post it on your blog Social Media Sites (Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook) Submit it to blogs Promote it on message boards and discussion groups The sky is the limit. Think your article is really a hit machine? Then even try distributing it to sites such as PR Web and PR Newswire (which widely distribute your article to media all over). These are pay services, but worth a shot if you have excellent material. Distributing articles and sharing useful information is the new currency that the internet works on, so by having a few up your sleeve you will be able to drive traffic to your site, build your credibility and create more interest. Write at least one article a month (ideally at least two), and distribute widely. If you are pressed for time, seek out a professional who writes articles exclusively for the web. They will know how to work in the keywords to maximize lead generation. Again, is this the answer to your marketing woes? No, but it is an important tool in the over all marketing strategy. In my experience I have learned to never put all of your eggs in one basket. Diversification of the marketing tools you use is the way to go! Published at:

Short URLs: The Pros And Cons. Should You Be Using Short URLs On Twitter, Facebook, And The Web?

What are Short URLs and should you be using them? This is a topic that I have seen quite a bit of discussion recently on Facebook so I thought that I would address this question in this article. Some explanation first. Short URLs are long URLs that have been shortened to make them fit more easily in a text message, Facebook update, or Tweet. In and of themselves there is nothing wrong with Short URLs, but you should consider the Pros and Cons before using them. There are lots of reasons why you may want or need to use a shortened URL. If you do a lot of Tweets on Twitter you will almost need to use Short URLs if you refer to web sites, recently Twitter initiated an auto URL shortening function on their site. The reason is due to Twitter’s limitation of 140 characters for a Tweet, basically what you would have available if you were using a cel phone for texting. So, if you want to put in a URL to a web page and include a bit of explanation you can easily go over that 140 characters. This is where shortening a URL is handy, it gives you more room for comment. Also some longer URLs are more than 140 characters in length, especially URLs from sites using Dynamic content to build pages, such as shopping sites and news services. Fortunately Twitter has information and links to URL shortening services to help you do this (more on these services later). Here is an example of a URL that benefits from being shortened. This is a link to one of my training titles on Amazon, in this case my SEO (Search Engine Optimization) training title: This whole thing is the direct URL to the sales page on Amazon. The URL is 120 characters in length, leaving you with only 20 characters for comment if you are using Twitter and even if you aren’t it leaves you with a very hard to remember URL. Here is the same URL shortened using a Short URL service on the web: This URL was shortened using a free service at The HTG-SEO is a custom shortcut name that I selected, as long as no one else is using it you can choose any shortcut that you want. This URL is now only 26 characters long. Another reason you may want to shorten a URL is to make it more user friendly and rememberable. Notice in the examples above how much easier it is to remember the shortened URL instead of the long one from Amazon. So, two very good reasons to use a URL shortening service, now lets take a look at some of the downsides. You need to weigh the pros and cons and consider your audience before you use a shortened URL. The biggest downside to URL shortening services is that you are no longer showing the actual URL. For instance in the examples above the first long URL is obviously going to, but in the second shortened URL it is not clear where the URL is pointing to. This can lead to concerns with your audience since they can not immediately tell where the link is pointing. It could be pointing to Amazon as you claim, or it could be pointing to a malicious web site instead. This is why I recommend against clicking on shortened URLs from people or sites you don’t know, it is a security risk. If your audience is unsure of who you are you may lose clicks using a shortened URL. Another drawback is the lack of name recognition. If I directed my buyers to my home web site instead of Amazon I could use a much shorter URL naturally and keep my web site name visible at the same time. For instance here is a link to the same title sold on my web site: This is a nice, short URL that also contains the name of my main web site, much better than using a URL shortening service. But what if you needed to sell an Amazon title or some other title with the same problem. Then a great solution is to set up an affiliate web site for your sales, with pages on your site drawn from the Amazon or other affiliate service. So your URL could look like the one above, which you would use in your advertising, and the links on the pages on your site would use the long URLs (such as the Amazon example above). So, now for my recommendations: • If your audience knows you then go ahead and use shortened URLs if needed • If you want the name recognition then try to set up relatively short URLs on your own site • You may need to use shortened URLs if you use a service like Twitter • If your audience does not know you but you still need shortened URLs, again you should try to set it up through your own site • And finally, if your audience does not know you and you can’t use your own web site then you can try using a service like which has a preview feature, allowing your viewers to see the page before they go to it To find services that create short URLs do a search on Google for “short URL”, you will find several free services that do a great job. I have created a free video demonstrating how to use these sites, you can find it at Published at:

Article Demon – The Best Article Marketing Tool

First a couple of obvious points about Article Demon. The interface is extremely similar to bookmarking demon, to put it differently it appears Lovely. Everything might be fully automated, from registration of accounts, confirming your email hyperlinks and posting your articles. The captchad pages may be solved with the and/or plugins. It has an inbuilt spinner that can auto spin each of one’s articles prior to submitting them towards the next directory in line. Inbuilt anti-bot module that simulates user behavior will enhance your good results charge and proxy support (rotating!) will insure that you are able to keep submitting articles even when you are banned, but since you’re submitting only high quality articles, that will not be a problem appropriate? Also, it is multi-threaded (Go through Quick). I will not bore you with other obvious particulars already existing on their sales page, but instead skip towards the stage.

Why Article Demon, why not any other article marketing submitter out there? Initial EdwinSoft are a reliable business that’s been about for many years. All of their goods have lifetime free updates. But probably the most important characteristic that has produced my decision easy is the capacity to add your own directories. Apart from the major “not templated” top quality directories for example, and about 20 other leading article directories, Article Demon currently supports five various platforms exactly where we’re ready to post our articles. They are Article MS, Article Pleasant, Article Dashboard, Article Seaside and WordPress Articles. Article Demon has an stylish automated module to method your harvested article directory hyperlinks. Just import (copy/paste) it in the module and Article Demon will recognize, organize and retailer your new article directories.

As quickly as I purchased Article Demon I’ve place my ninja scraping skills to make use of. I looked for a few apparent footprints that all the supported directory scripts make. I started my serp harvester to receive new article directories. Right here would be the footprints so you can make use of them:

* Article Seashore

“Articles with any spelling or grammar errors will probably be deleted”

“upload your articles and keep updated about new articles.”

* WordPress Articles

“If you have hired a ghost author, you agree which you have”

“Publish your article in RSS format for other web sites to syndicate”

“Do not submit articles stuffed with spelling mistakes and bad grammar”

“Using Article Directory plugin”

“There are * printed articles and * registered authors”

“RSS Articles” “RSS comments” “Recent Articles”

* Article MS

“Powered by ArticleMS”

“You don’t have permission to comment. Should you log in, you could have the ability to comment.”

* Article Dashboard

“By publishing info packed articles, you’ll soon enjoy”

“Use the articles within our directory in your website to present your visitors”

“Member Login to Submit Article”

* Article Pleasant

“Powered By : Article Friendly”

The end end result following importing the urls to Article Demon is 784 directories, waiting to nurture on their own with our articles. To ease our registration process even additional, I’ve used fake title generator to rapidly generate a pen name with all other personal data like deal with, phone amount, metropolis along with other similar forms that a few of the article directories require.

The registration procedure went splendid. Out of 784 directories I was in a position to register in 728, plus extra 5 when I retried the failed ones, uplifting the number to 733. That’s a 93.6% success fee! You do not get to see that typically when making use of mass automation tools.

These days will be the day that Article Demon was introduced so we can expect some setbacks, and you will find. I’ve gathered thousands of urls from your supported directory scripts and imported them into Article Demon. The consequence was MY Own fresh list, nonetheless Article Demon failed to understand several real article directories. So the guys from edwinsoft will must concentrate on fixing their recognition pattern and decrease the amount of failed directory entries. And that’s what will most likely occur throughout these coming days and weeks. We can anticipate a lot of these little updates that can eventually make this the #1 article submitter.

1st issue that I want will be the above mentioned far better dealing with and recognition of article directories. Yes, we by now have several, but WE WANT Much more! Yet another large priority want would be to get plugins also for other directories like Article Script, NextAge Tech, Subrion CMS & Inoutscripts. Now THAT could be powerfull!

Should you do not own an article submission application but, you should definitely get yourself Article Demon. If you previously have one, you ought to also get it, due to the fact why else would you still be reading this review, if not for the far better features of Article Demon more than your previous article submitter? 😉

UNLESS you’ve got Article Marketing Robot, simply because only this one really poses serious competition for Article Demon, with one huge setback that will be the inability to import your personal directories. And if you are a hardcore article marketeer you should possibly have both anyway.

Ten Essential Tips Ofr Delivering Successful Seo

10 tips for effective SEO:

Before you start your SEO campaign make sure to implement a quality web stats package that lets you know what search engine spiders are visiting your site, what keywords are referring the most traffic to your site, and how many hits/page views you are getting.

Build great design

To get the best search engine visibility web designers should follow the 5 basis rules if web design which states that web site should be:

Easy to read
Easy to navigate
Easy to find
Consistent in design and layout
Quick to download

Write effective Title tag on the page

Arguably the most important ranking factor for effective natural SEO is the title denoted by the – title – tags on HTML. This title is considered primary text by the search engines meaning that all the search engines record this text and place considerable value on it. It is important because it is the first text shown in the search results as a hyperlink to your site. As a general rule a descriptive title should be 5 to 10 words for each page or 69 to 75 characters.

Body text

On your page you should always aim to have a healthy amount of descriptive body text to explain what the page is about, don’t rely on the title of the page. You should aim to have your keyword in the text as much as you can, with it still being comfortable to read. This is known as keyword density. All search engines consider words at the top of the page, above the fold as more important in value than the rest of the page

Domain and the URL

Placing key-words in the domain can have some weighting in the effectiveness of your natural SEO. The reasoning is that the terms or phrases matching the words you typed in a query are highlighted when you view the search results. This is known as search- term highlighting or term highlighting. Note; If you are going to buy and use a URL that may have already been used in the past, it is worth while checking the history of the URL.

H1, Bold, Italics

You should have your main keywords once in an H1 tag, once in bold and then once in ITALICS, this should show the search engine crawler that these are important words/phrases for the page, so in turn the crawler will make the assumption that the keywords are important for a visitor.

Anchor text

Anchor text is what we call text links. You should always try and have all text links as descriptive keywords. When a spider follows the link to your page it should have an understanding of the content. Anchor text is a great way of improving your rankings on competitive keywords.

Write fresh content

Google loves fresh content. They have a fairly new spider called freshbot, it crawls the web daily looking for new/updated pages and sites. It will then list the page at the top of their index for that sites keywords. It will stay there for a few days, if the page was just an updated version of what is already in the results it will revert back to the old version and drop back to it’s old position, if the page is brand new then it will drop completely from the index, until the next full update when it should take a permanent place in the results.
